Our Story

The name "Guvies" comes from the nickname of our founder whose middle name is "Governador" and his siblings and cousins have called him "Guvie!" since he was a kid! The name stuck!

 

The company started out producing branded Guvie's liquid fertilizer to customers who applied it to their plants and saw great results. We would often be asked by those same customers for gardening advice and whether we supplied plants.

 

With our passion for gardening and proximity to plants it made sense for us to start supplying plants to those customers.

 

But rather than be a regular nursery we are different ... Guvies.co.za is an online-only nursery without a physical store-front: very futuristic!
