Type of Plant: Succulent groundcover
Species: Commonly from the Mesembryanthemum or Lampranthus genera, native to South Africa.
Description: Vygies are fast-growing, mat-forming succulents known for their striking, daisy-like flowers in vivid shades of pink, purple, orange, yellow, and white. Their fleshy leaves store water, making them excellent for tough, dry spots. They create a dazzling carpet of colour when in full bloom.
Care: Plant vygies in full sun and well-drained soil. They are extremely drought-tolerant and require little water once established. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth. Perfect for rockeries, borders, retaining walls, and water-wise gardens.
